When viewing a portrait I find that the audience normally interprets the meaning of the subject's expressions through their own personal lens.

I wanted to expand that Introspective nature past the traditional figurative pose to find a deeper sense of reflection.

By adding the images of kids in the state of play; it takes the viewer back to the days of childhood and the roles of camaraderie, competition, social bonding ,etc. that comes from the act of playing.

Attaching an action to a figure also asks the viewer to look deeper into the subject's life and find a new meaning in their expressions.
